The Degenerate Digest v.150

150 volumes of this rag? How bout it. Also hilarious thinking back to 2016 when I started this thing that I even thought of the volume system. Don’t get me wrong, it works. But I think the lower-case v with a period as a separator to the number was more of a stylistic choice back then compared to actually considering how volume is used in the literary community.

Conference Championship week. It doesn’t have the same buzz as it once did. The playoff basically kills off the true value behind winning a conference to the public majority. However - for true college football fans - there is still glory to your story as a coach, a player that will be selling insurance in 6 months, a program that hasn’t seen a trophy in decades, that still provides a protective layer of importance over these matchups. Not to mention that there still is some playoff uncertainty that can be affected by the results of today’s slate.

(11) BYU @ (4) Texas Tech: Texas Tech -12.5, Under 49.5

The only loss BYU has on their record is to the Red Raiders a few weeks ago, 29-7. You can say all you want about ‘well, Kalani Sitake knows what to expect now, it’s hard to beat a team twice’. Spare me.

Kalani Sitake has been distracted the past two weeks with the whole coaching carousel thing.

Sidebar: lol Penn State, you had to settle for that dweebus Matt Campbell because you thought a handshake was enough from Sitake in the modern college football landscape? Yikes!

Anyway, I guess the other perspective here would be that Sitake deciding to stay in Provo could give some extra motivation to the locker room. I just don’t buy it. Texas Tech has an insane amount of talent, particularly on the defensive side of the ball. You can raise your adrenaline all you want, Cougars (well, not too much that might be against the Mormon faith), it won’t be enough.

Final Score: Texas Tech 34, BYU 14

Miami Ohio @ Western Michigan: Over 43.5

The extent of knowledge I have about this year's Maction is limited, per usual. Maction is great to put on my muted second screen on a Tuesday night in early November when I watch other programs with my wife.

Who doesn’t want to score points in an NFL arena? (It’s at Ford Field every year for those keeping track).

Final Score: Western Michigan 27, Miami Ohio 21

(3) Georgia @ (9) Alabama: Georgia -1.5

Kirby Smart has an Alabama problem. Yet just as Ryan Day once had a Michigan problem, the tides are shifting. Alabama put a lot into their Iron Bowl victory last week. I have a feeling the Dawgs are gonna be ready to pounce on that potential emotional dip this week and get revenge for their loss to the Tide earlier this season.

Final Score: Georgia 27, Alabama 21

(2) Indiana @ (1) Ohio State: Ohio State -4

The reverse line movement on this line scares the bajeebus out of me. But I am willing to risk it here if it means Indiana actually proves they can hang with the big boys.

But Joey Digest, the Hooisers already proved they can hang, they beat Oregon. Fuck the ducks, they’re always fraudulent. Not to mention they were a miracle catch away from losing to Penn State.

I will side with an insane amount of the public here, and go with the side we know is the best team in college football with the Heisman under center.

Final Score: Ohio State 27, Indiana 21

Duke @ Virginia: Duke +4.5

I don't know, I needed an underdog on the card. The ACC is a mess. Fuckin SMU...

Final Score: Virgina 31, Duke 27
